Beekeeping in the South West by Wallace Family Apiary

Candy FRAME update

“BEE CANDY” UPDATE
The bees are readily taking up the sugar and pollen, from the “candy”, as we beekeepers call the concotion….it’s actually a take from the traditional, “candy boards”, an important Fall beekeeping management.
In the video below, we’ve filmed a good step by step process of how to make the “candy”…..we as beekeepers want to have bees come Spring time, and this is an “insurance policy” so to speak. We placed the “candy frames” above the brood chamber….as the heat generated from the honey bees clustered, the moisture softens the candy and the bees can take it down.

Enjoy the video if you’ve already seen it…..see it again, it’s a great video.
Happy Beekeeping & Happy Thanksgiving!!
